Maurice Roucel is a French perfumer with more than four decades of career. Born in Cherbourg, France, in 1946, Roucel discovered his love of aromas at an early age.
Roucel began his professional career as a chemist in the Chanel laboratory in 1973, where he worked for six years and learned the art of Haute-Parfumerie under the direction of Henri Robert, Chanel's perfumer at the time. After leaving Chanel, Roucel joined Quest International, where she worked as a perfumer for twelve years, perfecting her art.
In 1996, Roucel joined Symrise, one of the world's leading fragrance and flavor companies, where he currently serves as Master Perfumer. He is known for his unique combination of creativity, passion and experience, which has earned him numerous recognitions and awards.
In 2011, Roucel was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, in recognition of his significant contribution to the fragrance industry.
