Niche Perfumery tends to have a smaller distribution scale and is highly oriented towards creators, with original raw materials that are difficult to find. This does not mean that the Selective Perfumery does not have the same level of quality or is less expensive, simply, each one is governed by different commercial prerogatives.
Fragrances are made up of different scents called "notes." They are divided into three categories based on their volatility: top notes, heart notes, and base notes.
The top notes are the most volatile, only remaining on the skin for a few minutes. They are usually citrus, spices and aromatic notes.
The heart notes appear just after the top notes and are usually floral.
The base notes are the least volatile and the last to register. They can remain on the skin for a few hours and even a few days on clothing. They may contain, among other things, woody and powdery notes or chords.
Not necessarily, the perfumes are mixed in a specific base that can be water, alcohol, wax, lotion, etc.
Alcohol is a common base because of its neutrality, it allows the perfume to spread quickly as it evaporates.
The distinction is the concentration of the perfume extract: the higher the concentration, the more expensive it is and the less perfume you need to use. Thus, from highest to lowest concentration: Perfume (or perfume extract) with more than 20% concentration of essential oils, Eau de Parfum (10-20%), Eau de Toilette (8-10%) and Eau de Cologne ( less than 8% essential oils).
Some brands use the term "Cologne" for commercial purposes when their product is actually an Eau de Cologne.
This is an example of a response that you might give. It's good to be as thorough as possible in responses as that has a tendency to improve trust overall.
Our advice is that you put the perfume on the warmest areas of the body and where the skin is thinnest. You can put a little on the inside of the wrist, behind the ears, at the nape of the neck, etc.
You can also put a little perfume on your clothes or hair by spraying it from a distance. Try to avoid the back of your hand and don't rub your wrists after putting on the perfume.
Remember never to rub the scented area, this permeates the top notes and accelerates evaporation, reducing the performance of the fragrance.
To make your perfume stay longer, put on an odorless lotion, or the scented lotion with your fragrance before putting on the perfume. A hydrated skin will keep the perfume molecules for longer. If you can't smell your perfume during the day anymore, it doesn't mean that others can't, your nose may have just gotten used to it.
Some say that an unopened perfume bottle can be kept for years. The truth is that the longer a perfume is stored, the weaker the top notes will be.
If it opens, it is best to use it within two years. In any case, to keep it longer, keep it away from light, humidity and heat.
By definition, natural molecules are chemical in nature. There are often negative connotations associated with the use of synthetic raw materials, but despite prejudices, a perfume containing synthetic raw materials is not inferior in quality to a natural one. In fact almost all perfumes contain them.
On the other hand, some natural materials are restricted by European and world regulations and therefore synthetics are the best way to reproduce an aroma close to them.
The lily of the valley, for example, is a note that technically cannot be extracted from the flower. Other materials, such as musk, ambergris or civet, are restricted by their animal origin.
When several different perfumes are smelled, sometimes the different notes can no longer be clearly distinguished as the nose ends up becoming saturated. Smelling a few coffee beans between each fragrance helps to reset the sense of smell.
