In the hands of any other creator, this statement could be an apology. For Alessandro Gualtieri, instead, it's a statement of intent: Blamage (“misfortune” in German) may be a testament to mistakes and failures, but the result is just as vibrantly heady as each of its predecessors in the already complete Nasomatto line. Drawing inspiration from classic fragrance legends that achieved their unique character through mistakes in the design process, Gualtieri blindfolded himself and chose four (undisclosed) key ingredients at random. From there the perfume was painstakingly constructed, a process that took Gualtieri all over the world and, supposedly, almost to the limit.
In the end, though, this latest fragrance from the esteemed brand shines as brightly as the rest. Powerful, heady, and more than a little addictive, Blamage is the best kind of mistake possible, and it just might cause you to make some mistakes you won't regret either.
