Baraonda, a mysterious addition to the Nasomatto line, comes with few clues. The name means "chaos" or "riot" in Italian, but the fragrance itself is subtle and almost transparent. The nose of this fragrance warns us that it will evoke "a raw taste sensation," but what we taste is comforting and refined.
Baraonda smells of autumn delights, painted with a light hand. A whiskey glass raised to catch the glow of an open fire. Small, delicate glass bowls containing red berries, quince and apples slowly baked until just melted. An old book, open on her lap, filling the air with the dry, papery smell of lignin. A hint of caramelized wood resin dances around the edges of the room, but never closes.
Baraonda takes the heavy oils of the boozy-gourmand genre and uses them to make a watercolor so exquisite that it will have you savoring it on your tongue long after you've used it.
